AllReelNews.com is an independent news Web site with a humanitarian, political and arts focus. We like to cover big news as well as that which isn't given much attention by the media. While we are interested in capturing news on video, we also value the written word and welcome provocative points of view. Send us photographs, articles and essays and let us know what you think is important. These are exciting times and, as we enter a new period of change, we look forward to your input on how the Obama administration is doing, how it is handling our demands and needs and global imperatives -- the Iraqi occupation, the war in Afghanistan, and most immediately, the Israeli occupation in Gaza. These are daunting times, and it remains imperative to stand firm for what one believes in, to search for the truth and to act on it. We hope you'll contribute with your attendance to key issues, your voice and your participation to the conversations at hand. May our dialogue benefit beings and enlighten our own minds.
Check out our top regional and national stories and see what activists are protesting in areas around the country.

Our new Arts & Culture section features new columnists Marcela Breton, a jazz critic, and Sam Dickey, our film reviewer.

AllReelNews.com is pleased to announce that Breton will be participating  in the 13th annual Jazz Journalists Association awards. The JJA Awards are the only ones of their kind. Focused exclusively on excellence in jazz music, they recognize the accomplishments of musicians, composers, arrangers and others involved in the creation and promotion of this great American art form. Initial balloting and final vote are open only to full, professional members of the JJA. Members may cast up to five votes in over  40 different categories. Results of the final vote will be announced after the March 14th deadline and before the awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place Wednesday, June 16, from 3 - 6 p.m. at the Jazz Standard, 1165 E. 27th St., New York, New York.
